Who is Sayer Ji?

Short answer

Sayer Ji is an American author and investigative journalist. He founded GreenMedInfo, an open-access index of peer-reviewed natural-health research, in 2008, and the citizens’ coalition Restore the First in 2026. He wrote Regenerate (Hay House, 2020) and Shadow Empire: The Epstein Files (Skyhorse Publishing, 2026).

His work

Ji’s work rests on one method: find the primary source, put it where anyone can check it, and say what it does and does not show. He applied it first to the medical literature and now applies it to the federal record.

  • GreenMedInfo (founded 2008). An index of PubMed research on foods, nutrients and botanicals. As of October 15, 2026, it reports 109,812 editor-curated studies, 455,768 studies linked to a substance or condition, and 28,227,600 studies indexed in total, across 10,244 health topics (greenmedinfo.com).
  • Regenerate (Hay House, March 31, 2020). It appeared at No. 11 on the Publishers Weekly hardcover nonfiction list for the week ending April 4, 2020 (Associated Press), and has been published in German, Polish and Spanish.
  • Shadow Empire: The Epstein Files (Skyhorse Publishing with Children’s Health Defense, listed for December 15, 2026). A documentary reading of the Justice Department’s Epstein release, with claims footnoted to public documents. His Substack series on the Epstein files is collected on the writing page.
  • Restore the First (launched September 17, 2026). A citizens’ coalition asking Congress to preserve the record of government pressure on platforms, hold public hearings and create an enforceable remedy (restorethe1st.com).
  • He co-wrote The Cancer Killers (2012) and, with Ali Le Vere, chapter 10 of the CRC Press clinical primer Nutrition and Integrative Medicine (2018) (Taylor & Francis).

Roles and recognition

  • Co-founder of Stand for Health Freedom (2019) and a founding board member through 2024 (Stand for Health Freedom; AP).
  • Chairman and co-founder of the Global Wellness Forum, and a member of the steering committee of Make Europe Healthy Again, launched at the European Parliament in October 2025 (Health Policy Watch).
  • Advisor to the National Health Federation, which named him a Health Freedom Hero in 2017 alongside Corinne Buckley and Senator Rand Paul (NHF).
  • Quoted by name, as Chairman of the Global Wellness Forum, in the White House release on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, January 8, 2026 (whitehouse.gov).

Background and nationality

Ji is American. He spent part of his early childhood in Dortmund, Germany, where his father, the cell biologist Sungchul Ji, worked at the Max Planck Institute. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1995 with a degree in philosophy. Before founding GreenMedInfo he worked as a counselor-teacher and wilderness-therapy specialist in youth programs and managed a natural-foods market in Bonita Springs, Florida. The details are on the education and credentials page and in the full biography.

The controversy

In March 2021 the Center for Countering Digital Hate named Ji in its “Disinformation Dozen” report. Facebook publicly disputed the report’s central claim that August. What the report said, what fact-checkers flagged, and what has happened since are set out, with sources, on Sayer Ji and the controversy.
