Founded 2008
GreenMedInfo
A free, searchable index of peer-reviewed research on foods, herbs, nutrients and other natural interventions, drawn from PubMed.
What it does
GreenMedInfo links natural substances to the health conditions they are studied for, and shows the underlying PubMed record so a reader can open the study and judge it. As of October 2026 the site reports 109,794 editor-curated studies, 455,750 studies linked to a substance or condition, and more than 28 million PubMed records indexed.
It is a curated index. Editors choose the studies that bear on natural interventions. That is a published editorial method, not a claim to represent all of PubMed; readers should read the study itself, and check whether it was done in humans, animals or cells.
Why it exists
The project began from a simple observation: the research on food and plant compounds is public, but scattered. Putting it in one place, with links to the source, lets patients and clinicians see what has been studied. The earliest archived capture is from March 26, 2009. Its library grew from about 23,000 research articles in 2016 to the figures above.
